About us

Dear All.
Greetings from Organizing committee of ISPCCON2019!

It gives immense pleasure to announce that Department of Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Critical Care shall be organizing 5th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Pain Clinicians (ISPCCON 2019) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India to be held from 8 to 10 November 2019.

The Indian Society of Pain Clinicians, ISPC, Reg, No.- 65/2015-16 is the only pain society in India which comprises of formally trained Pain Physicians for at least one-year duration. ISPC was formed by its founder President Prof. Virendra Rastogi, who, incidentally, was one of the founding members and secretary of ISSP i.e. Indian Society for Study of Pain way back in 1986. The aim of Indian Society of Pain Clinicians ISPC is to promote the evidence-based education in the upcoming field of Pain Medicine in India and abroad and to make sustained efforts for the recognition of Pain Medicine as a super-specialty branch of Anaesthesiology.

After the first inaugural conference of ISPC in 2015 at Banaras Hindu University BHU, Varanasi, successive conferences were held at GMC Chandigarh under the leadership of current Hon. President Prof. Deepak Thapa in 2016, at MGM Medical College under Dr. Sidhartha Verma in 2017 and at Dr. RMLIMS, Lucknow in 2018 with Dr. Anurag Agarwal as organizing secretary with flying colors.

Current practice in interventional pain management utilizes the emerging imaging technology to the maximum and facilitates safer execution of various interventions in the field of pain management. The interventional modalities have changed drastically over a few decades. The concept of interventional pain interventions has progressed from “Nerve Blocks” to “Minimal Invasive Percutaneous Endoscopic spine interventions and Neuromodulation”. This conference intends to cover the current trends and evidence-based pain management practices in interventional pain management.

The ancient city of Delhi has seen seven previous avatars and is reported to be over 2000 years old. Do enjoy its various monuments & heritage from different periods in its history ranging from the Mahabharata to modern India. You may also visit the famous Golden Triangle (Agra-Jaipur-Delhi) which has an interesting history of about 1000 years.

Once again we extend a cordial welcome to you all and look forward to your active participation in ISPCCON 2019 at Delhi.
